Information for IECP Part-time Students

Visa

Most students who come to the United States for English Language studies are required to enter on F1 visas. Students who enter the country with an F-1 visa MUST study full time.  Dependents with an F-1 or J-1 visa are permitted to study part-time.

Number of Courses

Part-time students must take at least two courses. Special arrangements can be made for visiting faculty, scholars, researchers, and company employees.

Tuition

The tuition for two courses is $2,795.50, plus the $100 application fee. The $100 application fee is a one-time only fee, and it is nonrefundable.

Assignment to Courses

The program makes every effort to assign part-time students to the specific courses they want to take or to the days or times they want to study. If you have preferences, you need to tell us when you register. But, because some courses must be taken together (integrated courses in some levels) or because of the size of some classes, it is not always possible to assign part-time students to the specific courses they have requested. The $100 application fee and tuition will be refunded to you if you can study only at a particular time of day and we cannot give you classes at that time. We do not make an application refund if a particular course is not available.

Student Insurance

J-1 visiting scholars or researchers enrolling in the IECP are required to meet IECP student insurance standards. Before signing up for IECP classes, you should check with the Student Insurance Office to see if your current insurance meets their requirements for international students.
